Studies and training
Graduate and PhD in Psychology from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, where I have been a professor since 1998.
Complementary training in music therapy: Postgraduate University Diploma in Music Therapy from the UPV/EHU, and student of Music Therapy at the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, and specialist in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (Mid-Atlantic Institute, Maryland, USA). / Agruparte, Vitoria-Gasteiz).
Teaching and management positions
I have been Vice Dean of Teaching Planning, Innovation and Students (2017-2019) and Academic Secretary (2016-2017) at the Faculty of Psychology, where I currently teach bilingually in the Degree in Psychology and in the master’s degree in General Health Psychology. I am part of the faculty of the Doctoral Program in Psychology at this university, and I have also collaborated since the 2004-2005 academic year in the Master’s/Specialist in Music Therapy at the Pontifical University of Salamanca.
Research
Member of the Osaklinik Basque Government Research Group: Psychological interventions to improve physical and mental health (2022-2026) and, since 2018, member of the MHI Biodonostia mental health and psychiatric care research group (neuroscience area).
Current research interests:
- evaluation of psychological intervention programs in people with fibromyalgia and non-fibromyalgic chronic pain,
- mindfulness and music therapy in the clinical and health field
- health promotion and affirmative psychological interventions in LGBTI+ people
